The Geography & Location
Apua is an exchange island that has been created along the trade routes of Thassa north of Cos within an archipelago with the city of Leptis Magna at one end, a free port, and at the heart of the island the Township of Delphinia for the purposes of this role-play.
Working closely together Delphinia is a cultural and artisan center while Leptis Magna is more concerned with profit as it is run by the Merchants.
Formed from volcanic activity the Isle has a rich fertile soil that blesses the crops that are planted helping keep the inhabitants comfortable and fed.
One can watch ships traveling to the outlying smaller uninhabited islands proving to be profitable as the mining of precious stones and metals has become one of the major endeavors in the development of the culture allowing for the exporting of these luxuries and the creation of bronze.
Metals including gold, with deposits of nickel, zinc, copper and lead.
Fishing and other maritime activities such as whale hunting have become part of island life contributing as well to what may be exported.
The Climate
The Isle enjoys a warm-summer Mediterranean style climate with the coldest month averaging above 0 °C (32 °F).
With warm (but not hot) and dry summers, months average temperatures below 26.6 °C (80 °F), and at least four months averaging above 10 °C (50 °F) with warm dry summers and cool wet winters.
Winters are rainy and can be mild to chilly but do not typically see snow.
